Look out below! ...

New London - ...because I am going to vomit. Boy, do I need to get my brain checked for pulling stunts like this. But, there is only one way to get this photo (and be able to put my name under it)...make the climb.

Mystic - Not much shaking since getting back from vacation last week. Here is today's adventures. Above is Tango dancing at Mystic River Park.

Kingston, RI - Preview for a hot air balloon festival. Yes, I know that this shot has been taken before...but I have not been inside a balloon like this before, so I took it anyway. It is pretty cool inside one of these things. I just wish it was more colorful.

Welcome to New London, now watch your head!

Saturday July 5, 2008

New London - New London has figured out a new way to deal with tourists...sticking them on the upper deck of a double-decker bus, and don't trim the trees! New London has seen an increase in cruise ships, and here are some passengers taking cover to avoid decapitation. Its not just a tour...its an adventure.

Newport, RI - Just an out-take from a night at the park.

Norwich - Here are two from the thunderstorms I got caught in this week. Hail and daytime lightning, you can't go wrong.

Found in Unity

Friday June 28, 2008

Unity, NH - Okay, so this is over a week old now. Yes, I was part of the side show to the big show last week up in Unity. Highlights include a lack of water and transmitting photos during a thunderstorm. No one was hurt that I know of, and I had a good time. It beats high school graduations, that is for sure.

You do not need the sun for a sunburn when you have one of these spotlights right behind you.

Odds and Ends

Tuesday June 24, 2008

Montville - This is from a shoot where a mother was giving her 2 year old a nebulizer treatment for his newly formed case of asthma. The family believes that bad living conditions in their building (mold and moisture problems) may have contributed to the asthmas formation.

New London - This one is more for fun. This is me on the front of a Coast Guard cutter watching the removal of a local train bridge. It is a little fuzzy becuase I cropped it in pretty heavily, hence the tabloid-esk photo-in-photo.

The Long Goodbye

Friday June 20, 2008

Groton - The Connecticut National Guard held an official send-off ceremony for the Groton based unit on Thursday. They are departing to the Middle East for the second time, and will be gone for at least a year.

"Here, let me rearrange your patches..."

Even more Pomp and Circumstance...

Friday June 20, 2008

Waterford High School

North Stonington - Even after 5 graduations this week, I am still going strong. At least 10 on the year. Not as bad as my record of 14 in the same season.

More Pomp and Circumstance...

Wednesday June 18, 2008

New London - This is the big graduation week. I will be photographing at least five this week alone. I was not trying to be artsy with the photo above by turning it B+W, it is just that the color of the wall behind the grads was an awful shade of green.

Old Saybrook - "Allright, who invited Satan to Commencement..."

6/6/08 and 6/4/08

Saturday June 7, 2008

Montville - Graduation season, I only wish that the title of the book was more ironic.

Groton - Late in the day weather feature. I thought it was a desperation feature, but landed front page anyway.

I'm not 35, I am Twenty-fifteen

Saturday May 31, 2008

Mystic - Ah the digital journalist, workin like a dog on his birthday. It seems that I almost always work on my birthday. For those who don't do this for a living, this is the modern photo-lab. Laptop computer (literally) in the front seat looking at photos. Yea, I know, where did I learn to focus a camera. It must be my eyes going in my old age...

So what else is new???

Thursday May 29, 2008

This is a May update of sorts. Kind of getting caught back up with stuff that I wanted to post. (Above) School kiddos check out dinner in Groton.

Norwich - National Nursing Home Week reacting to a locally produced Dancing With the Stars.

Mashantucket - Native American girl at the opening to the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods.

New London - Pro-administration supporters outside the Coast Guard Academy while VP Dick Cheney speaks inside.

Groton - The VP was nice enough to depart over some wonderful clouds on his way back to DC.

New London - Return of the JIBBOOM CLUB!

Mystic - Mmmmmmmmmmm...ice cream...

Gales Ferry - Farm hands with thunderheads in the background.

Children of Iraq

Saturday May 24, 2008

Well, this is my final post from my Iraq stuff. I left this one until last because these were the photos and experiences that meant the most too me while I was in Iraq. The children that I met lived in such poverty, yet their personalities were that of any other child that you would meet. I only wish that I had had more time to spend with them. Oh well, back to America now.
